Madonna Music

Madonna Music:
Madonna is the biggest dance music icon in history. She has had more hits on the Billboard Hot Dance Club/Play Chart than any other single artist.
Her first singles in 1982/83, "Everybody" and "Burning Up/Physical Attraction", became hits on the dance charts. The success of these tracks led to her first CD "Madonna" which contained three Hot 100 dance hits: "Holiday", "Borderline" and "Lucky Star".
After the release of her next CD "Like a Virgin", the artist's career broke wide open. Over the next three years she had an incredible string of hits that included: "Like a Virgin", "Into the Groove", "Open Your Heart", "Who's That Girl", and "Spotlight". She capped this period of her career by releasing her first compilation CD of dance remixes called "You Can Dance".
Her next studio CD "Like a Prayer" came in 1989 and contained the title track as well as the monster dance hits "Express Yourself" and "Keep It Together". It was her biggest selling CD to that date.
A year later she released one of her biggest singles ever, the house music anthem "Vogue" which created a sensation in the dance clubs. Her subsequent singles "Justify My Love" and "Rescue Me", from the "Immaculate Collection" CD, similarly swept the dance floors.
By 1992, the artist's career was at it's lowest period since her debut a decade earlier. Although her CD "Erotica" was by all accounts a "hit", it's sales lagged far behind those she enjoyed in the Eighties. Still, she had a string of dance hits that continued into the late Nineties including "Erotica", "Deeper and Deeper", "Secret", "Bedtime Story", and "Don't Cry for Me Argentina".
In 1998, Madonna's career received an enormous boost with the release of her multi-platinum CD "Ray of Light". "Ray of Light" was embraced by fans old and new and many critics consider it her most accomplished work. It is also one of the first (and biggest selling) mainstream Electronica CDs. Besides the title track, the CD spawned numerous club hits, including "Drowned World/Substitute for Love", "Frozen" and "Nothing Really Matters".
After "Ray of Light", the icon added two more movie tracks to her extensive catalogue: "Beautiful Stranger" and "American Pie". The Victor Calderone remix of "Beautiful Stranger" became a club staple in 1999/2000 setting the stage for her next studio CD "Music" and it's singles. "Music", "What It Feels Like for Girl", and "Don't Tell Me" were all big dance hits.
The Maxi Single "Die Another Day" (the theme from the James Bond movie) was released in 2002. Reaction to the track was mixed as were the reviews for the CD "American Life". "American Life" nonetheless spawned four more dance singles: the title track, "Nothing Fails", "Nobody Knows Me", and "Love Profusion".
Madonna bounced back yet again in 2005 on her disco-influenced CD "Confessions on a Dance Floor". With this release, she achieved four more hits, "Hung Up", "Sorry", "Get Together" and "Jump", and sold a staggering 8 Million CDs.
Madonna's latest CD is "Hard Candy". That CD dropped in May, 2008 and got a huge sales boost from hit single "4 Minutes" which featured Justin Timberlake and Timbaland.
