Dance Music MP3 - 2004

Dance Music MP3, Dance Music:

The year 2004 saw the launch of the solo careers of at least two dance divas, the return of a classic dance band, a club superstar "makeover", and a drag diva dominating the charts. Also in 2004, Madonna's knack for getting publicity fueled her back to #1.

No Doubt front woman Gwen Stefani released her first solo CD, "Love, Angel, Music, Baby", in November, 2004. The lead single "What You Waiting for?" became a dance smash and launched her now flourishing solo career.

American Idol's Kimberley Locke also hit in 2004 with her first single "8th World Wonder". Although "Wonder" was not a dance hit, it was a launching pad for Kimberley into the dance music spotlight. Locke has since scored three top five dance singles with "Change", "Band of Gold" and "Fall".

Another dance single that made a splash in 2004 was "Good Boys". This single from the classic band Blondie was their first charting U.S. dance hit since "Maria" in 1999.

Nineteen Ninety-Nine was also a banner year for club superstar Amber. That year she scored several #1 club hits with tracks like "Sexual (Li Da Di)" and "Above the Clouds". In 2004, she released her first indie CD "My Kind of World" which featured a dramatic change in sound. Fans liked what they heard and made the lead single "You Move Me" a top five hit.

Amber contemporary and drag performer RuPaul solidified her bid for dance music stardom with "Looking Good, Feeling Gorgeous". The single went all the way to #1 and helped legitimize her career as a dance diva.

Another diva who is no stranger to the #1 spot is Madonna. Her teaming with Britney Spears for the duet "Me Against the Music" fueled a media storm that helped catapult the single to #1. Madge visted the top spot two more times during the year with "Nothing Fails" and "Love Profusion".
