Britney Spears Blackout

Britney Spears Blackout, Dance Music:
"Blackout" was Britney Spears fifth CD, released in October, 2007. The CD is widely considered Spears' best work to date. On it's release, "Digital Spy" called it "the most danceable, modern and thrilling album that Spears has ever made..."
The lead single "Gimme More" was released in August, 2007. Despite a disastrous live appearance on the 2007 MTV Video music Awards to promote it, the single became Spears highest charting release since "..Baby One More Time". It ultimately acheived platinum sales.
"Peice of Me", the followup single, also went platinum. The track, written by Christian Karlsson, Pontus Winnberg, and Klas Åhlund, became a top ten hit in countries around the world. Like "Gimme More", "Peice of Me" was a #1 U.S. dance hit.
The third single, "Break the Ice", also shot to the top of the Billboard Hot Dance Club/Play Chart. The promotional clip for this stuttering, electro hit was Spears' first animated video.
In Spring, 2007, it was announced that Britney was back in the studio working on her next CD, slated for released in December, 2008. "Breakout" contained many more potential singles such as "Heaven on Earth", "Hot as Ice" and "Ooh Oooh Baby" but the label did not issue a fourth track to radio.
Although "Breakout" acheived platinum status in the U.K., Canada, Australia and Ireland, it is generally felt that sales were hurt by the drama surrounding Britney's personal life during the release of the CD. Nevertheless, digital downloads of the CD, it's singles and remixes, exceeded 3 Million as at June, 2008.
